Gürgan Clinic Women’s Health and Fertility Center
“21st century will be an era in which the significance of women is appreciated in every aspect of life. While being mothers and wives, they, as conscious and productive members of the society, will also strive to be as successful at the very least as men.”
In order for women to live actively, productively, successfully and happily, they need to benefit sufficiently from modern health services. Therefore, worldwide projects are in their way of development both to early diagnose and to ensure most successful treatment of women’s diseases posing them to the smallest risk.
Each woman is different from one another, distinguished by their personal characteristics. Different factors such as age, genetic background, family structure, psychology, culture, and education, moral, as well as the distinct properties of the disease and the differences in the body’s response to the disease revealed that there cannot be one standard treatment that suits every woman.
Patient – Specific Treatment
It is clear that in a “Patient-specific” customized treatment, the response rate will be higher and results will be more successful than the standard treatment plans. These specific treatments are planned based on the participation of both the patient and the spouse, in a session held by the team of experts. In order to find out the most accurate, the doctor must have sufficient amount of data that will lead to the definite diagnosis. The doctor must also spare enough time to inform the patient thoroughly and get the patient’s informed and voluntary consent.
As a fundamental biological rule, women carry two X chromosomes, while men have one X and one Y. From the moment of development in her mother’s womb, a woman’s biological fate is determined by the genetic factors. However, racial, familial, educational, cultural, psychological, social and economic differences which distinguish the female from others start right after the birth to affect a woman’s life and continue to do so throughout the course of her life.
Each of the adolescence, fertile period, pregnancy, pre-menopausal and post-menopausal phases of a woman’s life have their own various specific problems, which all need to be addressed.
We all have probably experienced the family, friendship, social, and most importantly self-conflicts and disagreeability during a girl’s adolescence. However, having reached to adult ages, we struggle to understand the problems during our daughter’s adolescence and find it hard to resolve them. Irregular and/or unexpected menses, weight gain, increase in body hair, and even sexual problems experienced by our daughters keep us sufficiently busy.
Women’s Health and Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a normal and physiological phase. However, while pregnancy can be a source of happiness due to the arrival of the bundle of joy of the family, it can also be a source of despair. Miscarriage, premature birth, congenital abnormalities, developmental malformations, mother’s diseases such as high
blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, and sudden infant death can be listed as some of the problems that can cause suffering.
It is the doctor who tracks the pregnancy who should recognize the problems that can arise in a normal course of pregnancy as soon as possible and guide you to treatment.
Infertility, which means the inability to conceive, is a significant social, psychological, and economic problem that affects approximately 1 million couples in our country. Rapid advancement of medical technology in the last ten years provided an opportunity to treatment of most of the problems of men and women. Nevertheless, there can still be couples experiencing this problem who have difficulty in reaching patient-specific treatment and obtaining successful results.
Women can also face problems concerning their reproductive organs during their fertile period and while aging towards the menopause. Various ovarian cysts, inflammation, irregularities in menstruation, malign or benign tumors including uterine myomas can arise. Unfortunately, research results in our country suggest that women rarely consult gynecologists to benefit from regular checks and take the advantage of early diagnosis unless they have a significant problem.
Another important problem in our country is the recent loss of confidence in doctors. Women can consult approximately 3 to 5 doctors to decide on a surgery. They can get confused, get the wrong message, and worry due to various reasons. Surgical removal of any of the female reproductive organs is not recommended unless required. Recently developed endoscopic surgery techniques can be applied by experienced surgeons during the surgical operations in almost all of the women’s diseases and make recovery time the shortest possible.
Before and After Menopause
Pre- and post-menopause is expected to be a nightmare by many women. Especially, the articles on this subject which get a lot of press lately in visual and written media, caused a sense of panic. Women expect hot flushes, insomnia, and nervousness on one hand, while fearing of fragile bones, cardiac disorders, early dementia, and total loss of sexual appetite as they get older. On the other hand, women are also afraid of the side effects, primarily cancer, of the hormonal drugs suggested as alternative cures to the effects of menopause. Women feel the lack of an up-to-date approach that is planned considering their preferences and designed specifically for the needs of their individual body. Experienced and insightful centers that have the ability to coordinate interdisciplinary experts on the field are much needed.
Our aim is to guide you through the most up-to-date diagnosis and treatment options in subjects regarding your health and to contribute to your well-being by performing your treatment with the most advanced methods.
