What is Embryo Detox?
There is a new method to increase the chances of pregnancy for women who have failed in vitro fertilization treatment. This method, called 'egg maturation culture fluid and cell therapy', or simply embryo detox, significantly increases the chance of becoming a mother.
President of the World Infertility and In Vitro Fertilization Association, Board Member of the Mediterranean Countries Reproductive Association, Gürgan Clinic Medical Director Prof. Dr. Timur Gürgan explained:

What is Embryo Detox and Who Can Benefit from it?
President of the World Infertility and In Vitro Fertilization Association, Board Member of the Mediterranean Countries Reproductive Association, Gürgan Clinic Medical Director Prof. Dr. Timur Gürgan explained:
Are there new treatments for these patients?
Yes, ''Embryo Detox Treatment' ve 'Combined Embryo Detox Treatment' It is necessary to mention his work.
In these studies;
- Embryo maturation cells support: In this group, special maturation cells obtained and multiplied from the ovaries are separated and fertilized eggs are allowed to develop together with these cells. Egg maturation cells, which are cells that surround embryo cells and assist in their development and nutrition, with the hormones and special substances they release, support embryos and help them develop in a better quality.
- Application of Granulocyte-Macrophage Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) added to embryo culture fluids at the appropriate concentration: In this group, culture fluid (GM-CSF) containing factors/growth hormones that help successful egg fertilization is used.
- Application of both supportive systems together: In this group, two treatments are applied in combination.
Day 5 is Important in Embryo Development
In studies, with these treatments, the development of the embryos is monitored and monitored until the 5th day, and then those that reach the highest level of maturation are transferred into the uterus. All of these treatments showed that blastocyst (embryos that reached the 5th day) development and pregnancy rates increased and the miscarriage rate decreased compared to the control groups.
Three separate studies were conducted regarding 'Embryo Detox' and 'Combined Embryo Detox Treatment':
- In the study, in vitro fertilization treatments were used for various reasons. embryo quality 2 women who had miscarriage or did not become pregnant despite 159 or more in vitro fertilization treatments were included in the research group. Embryo maturation support cells were used in these women. As a result, the rate of reaching the 5th day in treated embryos was found to be 56% and the pregnancy rate was 40%. The same rates were 32.3% and 24.3% in those who did not use treatment and were significantly lower than those who received treatment.
- In the study, during the egg collection process, the embryo maturation support cells of 35 women under the age of 45 with polycystic ovaries were separated and the mature embryo maturation cells were selected and developed in special liquids. After the obtained female eggs were fertilized with sperm, they continued to be nourished with these special embryo maturation cells and were provided to support the eggs. Cumulus egg support was not applied to 40 women with polycystic ovary disease. The embryo quality in the group receiving embryo maturation cell support was found to be better and the rate of fifth-day embryo (blastocyst), that is, human embryo before the formation of pregnancy, was found to be significantly higher. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome who received maturation cell embryo support for their fertilized eggs embryo transfer Pregnancy rates achieved afterwards also increased. While 51.6 percent of pregnancies were achieved in patients in the support group, 30.4 percent of pregnancies were achieved in patients without support. The miscarriage rate decreased.
In this study, combined treatment was applied to 12 women. The pregnancy rate in this group increased further and was found to be 55%.
- Studies on culture fluid (GM-CSF) containing factors / growth hormones that help egg fertilization have been continuing at the international level for a long time. The results of over 1500 studies conducted by Danish, Australian, Greek and Italian scientists have been published. In these studies, it has been reported that the use of the mentioned culture fluid increases the probability of embryos going to blastocyst, ensures the development of higher quality embryos, and reduces miscarriage rates, especially in patients who have previously miscarried.
2 or more before test-tube baby We initiated a study to investigate the results of combined embryo detox treatment including 2 cases with failure or 45 or more early pregnancy losses. The number of embryos reaching the 5th day under laboratory conditions has increased. We achieved a pregnancy rate of 44.4% in the cases whose results we received. Of these, only one pregnancy ended in miscarriage.
One of the women who became pregnant and continued her pregnancy had 7 previous unsuccessful in vitro fertilization procedures.
The results of our completed and ongoing studies, the results of which we have shared above Embryo Detox It shows that 3 separate laboratory techniques, which we named, increase the chance of success in in vitro fertilization when applied alone or together. This increase can reach significant levels, especially in patients with 2 or more previous in vitro fertilization failures, high rates of early pregnancy loss in previous pregnancies, and women with polycystic ovarian disease.
Combined Embryo Detox There is a possibility that the results we will obtain by increasing the number of patients in our application, which we refer to as, will enter the world literature if they support the successful rates we obtained in the first data. According to our knowledge, the study on this treatment application will be the first study in the world.
In conclusion,
In vitro fertilization treatments, when embryo maturation support cells or culture fluids containing GM-CSF are used alone or together in selected patient groups. embryo quality It is thought that it increases the chance of pregnancy and reduces the possibility of miscarriage by solving problems related to pregnancy, or the practice continues.
